Calorie Calculator
Estimate daily calorie needs and BMR based on your stats
How are daily calories calculated?
Calculating your daily energy needs starts with your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) — the energy your body burns at rest — multiplied by your Physical Activity Level.
The Mifflin-St Jeor Equation
Our calculator follows the Mifflin-St Jeor formula, widely regarded by health professionals as the gold standard for healthy adults:
Men: (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age) + 5
Women: (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age) - 161
Understanding Activity Multipliers
Your BMR is adjusted based on how active you are during the week:
- Sedentary: Little or no exercise. (BMR × 1.2)
- Light: Light exercise 1-3 days/week. (BMR × 1.375)
- Moderate: Moderate exercise 3-5 days/week. (BMR × 1.55)
- Very Active: Hard exercise 6-7 days/week. (BMR × 1.725)
